The New Cigar Review…

by Kiltboy

In an attempt to revamp the cigar blog, I have found a website that answers a lot of questions.
I am still learning a lot about cigars including how they are made, their characteristics, etc. Cigar Advisor is a good site for learning. It is especially helpful in that it gave me a new way to rate cigars that I will attempt to stick to. It was entitled “Rating Cigars: How to be a good judge of “character”" and I will post it below. I will also be updating the cigar blog by actual entries like this one so that anyone who comes to the site can leave comments on what cigars they like or don’t like.

The Nuge and gun control…

by Kiltboy

Now Shlep and I are just old enough to appreciate the music of Ted Nugent. We also have seen him in his older days with his lobbying for gun control, his hosted hunts on his Texas ranch, and his start and end of his meat jerky. Read the rest of this entry »

Why Ken didn’t vote for Barack Obama

by Kiltboy

I was going to vote for Barack Obama yesterday, and then I was told he was secretly a Muslim who sought to get into office to destroy America in cooperation with the terrorists. The signs were obvious; for starters, Obama rhymes with Osama, and then his middle name is Hussein; like Saddam Hussein. You may not think Saddam had anything to do with terrorism, but Vice President Cheney assures us that he did. And Obama is in league with them both; look at this: Read the rest of this entry »

Great Beer Review - Appalachian Brewing!

by Kiltboy

Appalachian Brewing Company was very good! So much so in fact we wound up there twice that day! Appalachian is based out of Harrisburg but has 2 other brew pub locations. The one we went to was in Gettysburg. Wacko and I went so that she could see a friend of hers from college and I went so I could maybe see a ghost and it gave me a chance for a few cigars.

Anyway, our server (the first time there) was a young lady named Sarah. She was excellent! She knew her stuff about each beer, gave recommends, and was very friendly and gave us a sample of each beer and their own brewed root beer! So going off the receipt, it was $10 and we got 12 5-ounce sampler glasses of beer and 1 of root beer. So Wacko and I had nachos to go with the first sampler. This is good to note because with the slight spice in the plate, it changed the taste of the beer, but there were only 2 notable differences. The second time around we didn’t have food until after we started drinking so the beer on a fresh palette versus having had some nachos. These should be more or less lightest to darkest. And speaking of which, I even had to buy one of their sampler glasses. It has a lightest to darkest scale on it along with the name of each kind of beer. That is excellent considering we do this beer log once a month! I will try to compare these to Sam Adams as we said we would, but these weren’t all that close to Sam. Read the rest of this entry »

Ken part 2, this time it’s religion

by Kiltboy

Religious Self-Help.

I’m done talking about politics for a while, I’m tired of it and every other blog is doing it. Some of them seriously spend hours a day researching these articles, while I read occasional news articles and watch Jon Stewart talk about them. Maybe after someone gets nominated on the Democratic side I’ll have something to say, but right now I have nothing original to add on the subject, if I ever did. Read the rest of this entry »
